In the vibrant year of 2019, amidst the lush landscapes and rich culture of Sri Lanka, "Serendipity Journeys" was founded. Our vision was simple yet profound: to share the unparalleled beauty and hidden gems of our island home with the world.
Just as Xpedition Journeys began to flourish, the world faced unprecedented challenges with the global pandemic. Travel halted, and the future seemed uncertain. However, our team's resilience shone through. We pivoted, focusing on domestic tourism and developing new, safe travel protocols.
As Sri Lanka cautiously reopened its borders, Xpedition travels was at the forefront, welcoming back travelers with renewed enthusiasm and enhanced safety measures. We introduced "bubble tourism" and carefully crafted itineraries that allowed visitors to explore our island responsibly. This year was about reimagining travel, emphasizing sustainable practices and supporting local communities. We saw a surge in interest for wellness retreats and nature-based tours, aligning perfectly with our core values.
Marked a pivotal moment in our history: we officially registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). This certification was more than just a formal step; it was a badge of trust and quality. Coming at a time when international travelers were returning to Sri Lanka in record numbers, it solidified our commitment to professional excellence and safety. We were now officially recognized as a trusted partner in the nation’s tourism recovery.
In a strategic move to better serve our international clientele, our Managing Director moved to Canada to pursue advanced studies. This transition transformed us into a global operation. By establishing a presence in North America, we gained a unique perspective on what international travelers look for, allowing us to bridge the gap between Canadian/Western expectations and Sri Lankan hospitality.
In December 2025, we reached a new peak with the launch of our official website. This digital milestone allows travelers from every corner of the globe to explore our curated itineraries, book experiences seamlessly, and connect with us directly, regardless of the time zone.
